Chania city in Crete
Chania (also called Hania or Xania) is the second largest city of the greek island Crete and the capital of the Prefecture there.
It is on the north coast of the island and is situated about 72 km west of Rethymno and 148 km west of Heraklion, Greece.
The city enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with sunny summers and mild rainy winters. In our opinion the period between April and October is the best period of time for a vacation because of the wonderful weather.
It can be virtually divided in old town and modern city. The old town is situated next to the old harbour. From the south, the old town is continuous with the new.
The cultural background is very rich, first of all due to the town's long history and its interaction with many diverse civilizations in the past.
Chania Crete is a top tourist destination in Greece because of its unique nature, history, culture, nightlife, cheap holidays, good 5 star hotels, villas, apartments in Chania city, Crete island Greece.
